The Portland Precision Engineering workforce consists of trade certified Fitter Machinists, Boilermakers, Mechanics, Apprentices and Trades Assistants. We also employ Crane Operators, Riggers, and Plant and Equipment Operators.
All Portland Precision Engineering tradesmen are certified to Australian Standard for confined space entry. We also have several tradesmen who are certified for unrestricted wind tower climbing having completed specialised training for working at heights and tower rescue.

Managing Director – Jon Dennis
Jon became Owner and Managing Director in April 2010 when Portland Precision Engineering acquired PFM (Portland Fleet Maintenance). Prior to this, Jon worked for General Motors for 30 years in various roles in Manufacturing and Engineering Program Management whilst posted in North America, Europe and Australia. As Managing Director, Jon leads all Portland Precision Engineering operations.
Workshop Supervisor - Kane Rogers
Kane joined PPE in 2021 after previously holding a sales and leaderships role with BlueScope Steel as well as operating his own fabrication business. He is responsible for all workshop fabrication projects as well as team administration duties such as roster coordination, toolbox meetings, etc.
Site Supervisor - Matthew Evans
After several years of casual work in between FIFO assignments Matt became a permanent employee in 2014. A Boilermaker by trade, Matt has worked his way into this key leadership position where he is responsible for all site projects including shutdowns and major installation & commissioning programs.
Mechanical & Machining Supervisor - Mark Evans
Mark returned to PPE in 2023 from Portland Aluminium where he was a Maintenance Supervisor. Prior to that he was Machine Shop Supervisor for Keppel Prince Engineering. He was at PPE previously as a Leading Hand Fitter Machinist after returning from several FIFO postings.
Administration - Saffron Burke
Saffron joined PPE as a Certificate III Business trainee in January 2022. She became a permanent employee in January 2023 and has quickly become a critical part of the leadership team taking responsibility for job tracking, accounts administration, payroll, IT and overall operations optimisation.
